Blue Jackets @ SchoolClient: Paton PublishingWhile working at The Mississauga News Paton Publishing, owned by Metroland (the company that owns The Mississauga News), contacted us for help on developing a CMS system for one of their client sites due within a month. Due to the limited time available to us, we had no choice but to go with an Open Source CMS system. We needed one that was flexible to customize and still provide some complex features. Drupal was the CMS of choice. The system was built and fully customized by adding many of our own modules and modifying the core so that it could pass on some procedures that the system was not built to do. The design of the site, besides tweaks here and there for development reason, was created by Monica Low at Paton Publishing. I took the lead of the development work, interfacing directly with Paton Publishing. I also designed a flash applet displayed on both kids and teachers homepages, that displayed all gallery images uploaded into the CMS.
