Who is this guy?
Web design has been my passion ever since I can remember. All my work experience has been related to Web design and development. Having experience in both the designing and programming aspects ensures that the web page will be user friendly, appealing and efficient.
How was this site created?
This site was not created using an open sourced Content Management System (CMS) or script package. It was developed and coded from scratch in PHP with front and backend environments. The data is collected and organized on the site from a MySQL database. The flash gallery which I use to display all my portfolio artwork, dynamically loads content from a folder base structure and loads text content for each image via a XML feed.
Audio
The music used on the site was unfortunately not created by me. I appreciate new DJs and artists who use the ambient and trance genders in the music. I have been following one such artist known as AudioCrunch for a long time; ever since he appeared on the DepthCore group site. His music amplifies the artistic and functional nature of my sites while entertaining viewers with an enjoyable creative sound. I use his music because I want visitors to experience the visual and audio harmony of the site. Even though the music I use on this site is some of his older songs it still inspires me to this day. Design
For all my website designs I start off with some initial sketches on paper. Once I have some ideas down on paper and am happy with certain elements in the design then I start to add the work into Adobe Photoshop. I strive to continually improve on the functionality of the designs as well as keeping it appealing to the users that visit. I usually try and keep it down to a maximum of 3 designs. Once I am happy with one, I cut out the design and plan how the images will flow from the design phase to the development phase. I keep all elements in my design work running seamlessly using Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) which works for all internet browsers such as Internet Explorer or Firefox.
Development
In the development phase I take the design and all related elements like design images and backgrounds and implement them in a XHTML styled layout. Depending on the flow of the site and its intended use, many options can arise on what is the best programming platform to use, if any. With this site I knew I was going to be updating it with new projects as they come up so I want the content on the site to be dynamic. I developed it in PHP with a MySQL database to store the raw data. Pages like the portfolio page dynamically load the information on the site from the database. I have also added many other options on how it is displayed in the backend of the site. Some pages might not need all the code to be included and that needs to be thought about even before implementation can occur. In all my sites I take adequate time to plan ahead and make sure every element is thought thru before hand.
Most of the time I use PHP and MySQL together because they are both free, open sourced languages that are very powerful. There are times where a project is required to be developed in other languages like ASP or Flash. I have a lot of experience in those and many other programming languages.
